Ceramic Kaolin Slurry

SANBLEND®

SANBLEND® is a line of ceramic kaolin slurries developed for sanitaryware manufacturers that require fast casting, controlled rheology and dependable forming performance. Made from selected kaolins, SANBLEND delivers the chemistry, particle size distribution and physical properties needed for high-quality casting in both pressure and plaster casting systems.

Delivered as a slurry, SANBLEND is ready to use without additional processing, screening or aging. Each slurry is rheologically controlled and available with a choice of sodium silicate, sodium hexametaphosphate or sodium polyacrylate deflocculants. For manufacturers producing sanitaryware and other cast ceramic pieces, SANBLEND offers a streamlined raw material option designed for modern casting operations, including highly automated and fast-fire production.

SANBLEND ceramic kaolin slurries are formulated for casting applications where fluidity, thixotropy, drainage and casting behavior must stay in balance. Their unique rheology allows intricate castings to be produced at higher fluidities in many applications while maintaining the properties required for mold release, wall formation and reliable drainage.

The SANBLEND line is compatible with most final body compositions and suitable for a wide range of casting needs, from smaller ornamental wares to large industrial pieces. Its optimized chemistry and size distribution provide high-quality casting performance throughout the casting curve and across the full density range, with higher-than-normal slip densities possible in certain applications.
